Mike and Libby Angeliades were honored as the
recipients of the 2025 Archangel Michael Award by St.
Michael's Home at its Annual Name Day Gala on
November 9, 2025, for their significant contributions to
the community and to the Home’s mission and
expansion projects.
The Gala is held each year in conjunction with the Feast
Day of the Archangels, with the proceeds devoted to
supporting the ministry of St. Michael's Home.
Ever since it opened its doors in May 1958 in Yonkers,
New York, St. Michael's Home has continued its sacred
mission to provide the elderly with a home away from
home where they can live out their golden years with
love, dignity, and quality of care in a Greek Orthodox
environment.

St. Michael's Home is in the process of expanding on its
Stavros Niarchos Foundation Campus in Uniondale, NY,
with substantial construction progress, supported by
major grants and donations in 2025.
The Angeliades couple are members of Leadership 100,
FAITH and Founders of the Ecumenical Patriarch
Bartholomew Foundation.
Merkourios (Michael) Angeliades of the Archangel
Michael Church in Port Washington, New York was
invested as an Archon in 2013 and conferred with the
Offikion Skevophylax.

On his home island of Simi, Angeliades built a
Monastery and paid for the renovation of 16 churches.
