Committee Event in Greece
Dr. Eleni Andreopoulou
Dr. Eleni Andreopoulou, Professor of Clinical Medicine
at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, a
distinguished oncologist, breast cancer specialist and
director of Clinical Breast Cancer Research and a
member of Leadership 100, was honored at an event
organized by the Panhellenic Medical Association’s
(PMA) Women Physicians Committee on March 13,
2024, as part of the commemoration of International
Women’s Day.

Dr. Andreopoulou said at the time of her award, “It is a
special honor for me today, 25 years in the academic
diaspora with an exciting journey in my education, my
professional career, my personal life, my social
responsibility, given the human-centered role of my
science. I want to believe that Greek women doctors at
international level now enjoy the equality that comes as a
result of dedication to their dreams, passion, hard work,
consistency, and service to our roles in society.”
Dr. Andreopoulou is also a recipient of the Archbishop
Iakovos Leadership 100 Award for Excellence for her
outstanding contributions to science and to the
advancement of Orthodoxy and Hellenism.
Dr. Andreopoulou and her husband, Andrew D.
Panzures, are longstanding members of Leadership 100.
The ‘Women of Life, Women of Value, Women of
History Awards were presented in the amphitheater of
the National Gallery in Athens to eight women doctors
whose contributions to science and society serve as
examples for others to follow.
Dr. Andreopoulou, was selected as a global Greek
scientist whose contribution to the field of Oncology and
Breast Research is invaluable. She is an award-winning
researcher in several clinical trials of new therapeutic
approaches in advanced breast cancer, who strongly
supports the implementation of personalized therapy
with scientific discoveries and rapid drug development
strategies that contribute to effective treatment options
for patients, and is active in awareness programs for
